My impression is that it hogs the CPU more than Fraps (I know this because Fraps will record an open world game better than Win 10 DVR). The built in Windows 10 DVR works decent on some games. I've recently heard that Bandicam is the practical replacement for Fraps, but in order to record more than 10 mins at a time, I have to make another purchase of screen capture software. When I used it on Windows 7 it did a single file size, and it was easier to manage in the editing timeline. It breaks it into 2GB file sizes on Windows 10. The thing I don't like is it no longer does single files. One of the things I love about Fraps is the lossless quality, granted the filesize is huge.
